The mission: To keep school students stuck on education and not on drugs. And to continue keeping drugs out of schools, local law enforcement agencies have teamed up with Zanesville High School to create a new and updated proactive procedure for fighting drugs. Recently the Zanesville Board of Education approved a policy change, which permitted drug dogs to search in the lockers and the parking lot. Zanesville City Schools teamed up with the Zanesville Police Department as well as the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office earlier today where drug sniffing dogs from surrounding counties were brought in for the procedure. Students and parents were notified about the procedure however from now on random appearances should be expected. Lockers, and vehicles in the school parking lot were searched but nothing was found by the dogs during the hour long procedure.
