The Miss America Program is the largest scholarship program in the country for women. It provides over 30 million dollars worth of scholarship money. And with the absence of the Miss Southeastern Ohio program in the Zanesville community last year, young women in the area had to miss out on the opportunity. Zanesville has been hosting the program for 38 consecutive years. This year it's being brought back especially with the feeling of patriotism in the U.S. It is going to be revived this year with a flare for youth. The music, entertainment, as well as the whole pageant theme will be centered around being young and full of life. Some new things will be included in the program this year too. They are breathing new life into the program and adding a junior miss Southeastern Ohio and it will involve young ladies in the community in grades nine, ten, and eleven. The Miss Southeastern Ohio Program is scheduled for February 16th at Secrest Auditorium, and applications are available right now by contacting Nancy Waters at Grover Cleveland Middle School. Junior miss applications will be available starting December 15th and the first 20 applications will be accepted.
