The 0hio Highway Patrol says five people died in traffic crashes on Ohio roads on Christmas eve and Christmas day. None of the crashes were in Southeastern Ohio. Patrol spokesman Lieutenant Gary Lewis says this year's numbers aren't comparable to last year's, when 17 people died over a three day period.
Lewis says there were no major tie-ups or weather related problems on the highways. He says the patrol has stepped up its seatbelt enforcment and will continue increased patrols through the New Year.
