In a dedication ceremony today, the New Lexington City School District opened the doors of their new high school to the public. Because the old high school was becoming overcrowded, the school district was in need of a new facility. After passing a levy in 1999 and breaking ground in 2000, the new high school was well in its way. Now, the new facility which is over 105,000 square feet is ready to house approximately 600 students in grades 9 thru 12. Students and staff will occupy the new building on January 3rd. The old high school will be remodeled and used as a middle school.
