There is no fore warning as to when a major catastrophe will occur, so Muskingum County wants to be on guard and prepared in case of an emergency. To improve the quality of assistance to residents in the area, Disaster Services is already making advances in their efforts with the help of the County Commissioners. Already under construction is a home base project for emergency services to house themselves. Disaster Services, and the Commissioners are working together to create a base or operating center for large-scale emergency services, and this project has been in progress now for a few years. The county is hoping to finish the project this year, and construction of the center is currently underway. The project site is located on Nazzar Road near the sheriff’s outpost, where there is enough room for expansion if needed in the future.
