City and council officials are going to have fewer members representing them on the tax incentive review council, which oversees all of the tax abatements locally. The Zanesville Muskingum County Port Authority was notified by state officials that the number of members appointed was in violation of the Ohio Revised Code. Rather than 6, it should be three for the county and two for the city. Janie Dailey, development specialist for the port authority, informed the commissioners of the problem Thursday, hoping to correct the error before letters were sent out reappointing all the old members.
