There’s always a few things to look forward to after the holidays, and one event that comes to mind is the Girls Scouts annual cookie sale. Local troops have been preparing all year for their biggest fundraiser, as people have been anxiously awaiting the tasty treats since last January. This year, the Girl Scouts have some new additions to satisfy your sweet tooth. The new All-Abouts are shortbread with a fudge bottom, and the other cookie is called Ole Ole with a powdered sugar coating. Many residents have been asking as to when the cookies will be available and where exactly can these popular morsels can be found. The cookie sale is coming up this Saturday January 9th and instead of selling door to door, the girls from Dillon Elementary Troop 514 have decided to primarily sell to family, friends and neighbors. Profits from the cookie sale cover the troop’s expenses for yearly projects. The girls are involved in other activities throughout the year that help the community. If you are interested in purchasing cookies, you can call the Girl Scout Office, or look for the cookie booth at Wal-Mart.
