The accused killer of a Muskingum County Sheriff's deputy was back in court Wednesday. In a preliminary hearing the case of 27-year-old Henry Hager was bound over to a Muskingum County Grand Jury on aggravated murder charges. Last week Hager was arrested for the shooting death of Muskingum County Sheriff's Deputy Robert Tanner Jr. In the hearing, Muskingum County Prosecutor Michael Haddox presented evidence to send the Hager case to a grand jury. In sworn testimony three witnesses testified that Hager admitted to them that he shot a cop. That testimony was enough to send the case to a grand jury. Hager was taken back to Franklin County jail where he is being held without bail. A Muskingum County Grand Jury meets on Wednesday January 23rd.
