It was messy and slick this morning as those travelers on the back roads and highways braved the horrible conditions. Tow trucks were working as soon as daylight broke to pull cars out of culverts and gully’s, many had more than one customer to attend to. Since many companies work for Triple A and other services, towing companies are the first ones called to come out and pull the vehicles out. On Route 60 North between New Ripley Road and Kenlo Woods was the location of a couple of cars that were still trapped in a trench alongside the road. Hambel’s Towing and Lane Towing both had trucks out during the day hitching up vehicles and extracting them from the ditches. Towing services worked overtime today until about noon after everything cleared up.
