Fifteen students who excel in the science field will be competing in the Science Olympiad this weekend in Newark, Delaware. Roseville Middle School was one of sixty junior high teams in the United States that was chosen to attend the invitational. To participate in Science Olympiad the school must register with the state and a coach’s manual is sent to the school where a listing of every event category included in the Olympiad. Students stay after school and practice, and then those students with the highest scores are then chosen as part of the team. Many students who participate in Science Olympiad are interested in pursuing careers in that area of science and related fields. They believe that events like Science Olympiad will benefit them in the long run. The students from Roseville Middle School that will be competing this Saturday in Newark, Delaware at the University of Delaware. The Regional tournament for Science Olympiad is held in March, the State competition is held in April.
