Many families have been affected by the war on terrorism, and even here locally there are families who are without loved ones because of problems in the Middle East. Despite their daughter, Bonnie's absence, the Hittle family is looking forward to her coming home and strongly believe that their daughter is representing a lot of women and mothers who are serving their country. Bonnie was activated back in November, but before she was deported Family circle magazine did a feature story on her and her family for the February edition. Her family has always played a large role in her life, and being close with their mother is something Bonnie’s two daughters Kirsten and Delanie miss. Bonnie has been able to call once a week and was able to come home for a short time during the holidays. Bonnie is serving as a communications officer in the Air National Guard, and she has been in the service for 21 years.
