Just when things were starting to look brighter in the community, tragedy strikes again. This time in the Zanesville City School System, and coming to grips with an event such as this one is tough, but counselors in the area say it can be done. James McDonald Director of the Muskingum Counseling Center commented on the recent events saying that Zanesville is a compassionate and supportive community and when tragedies like this take place the residents and citizens of the area always pull through and are stronger because of it. Counselors from Six County have been called in to assist those in the school district and McDonald Stresses that to get through situations like these residents need to support each other and seek help if needed. The Health Department, Red Cross, Genesis, Fire Department and Six County offers programs and support that may help prevent and safeguard the community. McDonald stresses that Zanesville is a safe community and wants the citizens in the area to embrace that notion.
