It’s at this time each year that cupid tugs at the strings of everyone’s heart. You want to choose the perfect gift for your special sweetheart. From bears, to chocolates, bouquets and balloons the toll on your wallet can be pretty steep when it’s all over especially if you are looking to buy the traditional dozen roses.
On average nationwide, a dozen roses range from sixty to seventy-five dollars on Valentines Day. Imlay Florists in downtown Zanesville has been in business for almost six generations, and this is their 161st Valentines Day. They have a lot of options for the picky, or indecisive shopper. Dave Imlay, owner of Imlay Florists says that mixed spring bouquets are popular with the ladies this year, and candy, stuffed animals and balloons have always been big sellers. Imlay currently has an in house special on a dozen roses for $29.95, if you pay cash on the spot. Imlay Florists will sell anywhere between 23,000 and 24,000 roses on Valentines Day this year. Florists encourage customers to pre-order their flower arrangements and gifts, especially if they are going to be delivered.
