Bringing more job opportunities to the Muskingum county area was the discussion of the day at the County Commissioners Office. A zone abatement for the Lear Corporation in Zanesville was brought forth by Larry Merry of the Zanesville Muskingum county Port Authority. The Commissioners approved the Lear Corporation abatement, which will bring in 110 new jobs over the next year. Lear Corporation is an automotive supplier of interior wiring parts and molding machines that are used on vehicles and it is expanding its facility. Merry says that this is only one of the many projects that will be taking place to promote job growth in the area. Lear Corporation and the Port Authority have been working together on this project for nearly six months.
