Despite the rainy and windy weather the community turned out to attend a rib dinner benefit that honored one of their own. At the Zanesville Municipal Airport, people had the chance to reminisce about fallen deputy Robert Tanner Jr. and donate to a good cause. In honor of his memory the money from the benefit will go to a fund that will help MATC students, the Muskingum County Sheriff's canine unit and the animal shelter. Tanner's wife also revealed that some of the proceeds will be used to obtain safety devices for on-duty deputies at the Sheriff's Office. Hangar 7 was filled with family and community members and those who worked by his side. The out pour of support for the benefit was described, by Tanners good friend, Deputy Donn Steer as overwhelming. Also students from Tri-Valley High School volunteered their time to help serve at the benefit.
