The recent fires in the area is leaving the Muskingum Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross in desparate need of help. Earlier this week on Wednesday, a blaze at an apartment complex damaged the home of a mother and her two small children. Later on that day, a fire in Blue Rock Township totally destroyed the home of Violet McFarland and her fiance Teddy Lee Besser. Each time residents fall victim to these type of disasters, the Red Cross is there to help. The Red Cross provides families with shelter and other survival items. Dealing with an average of over 80 fires a year, this can affect their budget. To learn more about how your donations can help the Red Cross; call 740- 452-2731.
