The plan to build a new Big Bear in South Zanesville has come to a stop. The wrecking ball and construction rigs stood still on Wednesday. Gaping holes are evident in the partially demolished structure. Kevin Bush from the Columbus based construction company Corna Kokosing confirmed that they received a notice Wednesday to suspend construction. Bush said that it could be a temporary ban, and that details are still being worked out. Alex Iglesias, spokesman from a public relations firm that represents Big Bear says the planned opening of the new store has gone from this summer to this fall. He would not specifically say why there is a delay other than when you are dealing with contractors and bricklayers delays happen. Igesias says the old Big Bear will remain open until the new store is completed.
