It was the drug bust to beat all drug busts. Starting at dawn on Tuesday, the biggest drug raid in the history of Muskingum County took place. Over 80 state, federal, and local law enforcement, raided the homes of this area’s top suspected drug dealers. Forty-two people were named in 19 different indictments. The authorities have 31 of the 42 people in custody. They are charged with 170 separate offenses of federal law. Six are facing life in prison for the charge of trafficking of crack cocaine. Law enforcement has targeted 3 of the main suspected drug dealers. Two live in Zanesville. 33-year-old Thomas Price of Hedgewood Avenue and 32-year-old Scott Strickland of Winton Avenue are in police custody. The arrests cap an intensive three-year investigation that began as a result of citizen complaints. Those arrested will appear before a US Magistrate Judge in Columbus, then the District Court Judge will set trial dates.
