To kick off this year’s Operation Feed Campaign the Muskingum County United Way Agency has been issued a challenge. In part of that challenge the agency is issuing a challenge for the community to participate in, fighting the plight of hunger. The Alan Feinstein Foundation in Rhode Island is offering a challenge to the United Way Agency within the months of March and April. The foundation is dividing one million dollars among non-profit agencies throughout the country. This challenge is based on donations raised within a two-month period. During this timetable the United Way is also hoping to reach their goal. Shelves are bare at food pantries countywide and community members are encouraged to contribute and generate food items for this year’s Operation Feed. Their goal is to get 70 tons of food from Muskingum County this year.
