It’s not too late to begin thinking of the many pastry and cake creations that will be filling the Colony Square Mall. In April the event takes place but area businesses are encouraged to get into the act now to prepare for the Alfred S. Carr Center’s Sweet Sixteen Celebration. People all over Zanesville will be receiving summons in their mailboxes to recruit their participation in the cake auction. Not only is the hope that the people will buy the cakes to help support the Carr Center but also to benefit from the great incentives that are available with the cakes. The cake auction has been taking place for sixteen years now and to celebrate the event’s sweet sixteen Wendy’s, Kiwanis Club and Rotary Club are sponsoring a Y-Bridge shaped cake that will hold over 3-thousand candles. The goal for the year is to raise over 200-thousand dollars at the auction to help Muskingum County disabled adults and children.
