A well known Roseville artist has died. Leslie Cope passed ways Thursday morning after an illness. Cope, a native of England, was a resident of Roseville where his work is exhibited in an art gallery on Cope street. A lot of Cope's work depicts early settlement in and around Muskingum county. His works are in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum Of Art in New York, The Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh, The Library Of Congress and Capital University. Cope is also cited for his generosity to area charities and non-profit organizations. The Goebel funeral home in Crooksville is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday at the Cope Gallery from 6 to 9 pm and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:00 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Roseville.
