This afternoon was filled with a lot of ups and downs for five Zanesville firefighters. In the probationary period, the state requires firefighters to have 240 hours of job training on various aspects of their jobs. And today, they learned how to take a step up to get to higher ground. Each of the five have to go through the course that simulates what they would have to do in an emergent situation. By putting these firefighters to the challenge, they learn essential skills necessary in the line of duty.
