Authorizing 3 million dollars sounds like a big job and a big chunk of change, but when it’s for the betterment of health care, it’s worth it. Today the Muskingum County Commissioners met with Genesis officials concerning a bond issue for the hospital. The county authorized a resolution for a lease agreement with Genesis, so they can finance equipment at both hospitals at a low interest rate. This is only the first acquisition brought before commissioners, and a motion has been filed to approve the bond. Paul Masterson, Chief Financial Officer at Genesis confirmed that the money will be used for replacing existing equipment such as information system software, bedside monitors, surgical equipment, and machines used in the OR.
