The Ohio Department of Transportation is working hard to improve one of Zanesville's busiest roads. It seems that Maple avenue is always busy. In conjuction with the city of Zanesville, ODOT felt that a survey was necessary. Between the years 1997-99, the heavily congested route had more than 9-hundred accidents. Once the study is complete the information gathered will allow the department to find possible solutions to improve the traffic flow as well as safety for motorists. This summer there will be a public meeting to present alternative solutions to address the traffic and accident problems on the corridor.
