The Longaberger company is doing its part to help with new construction in the Tri-Valley school district. The school approached Longaberger about buying the fitness center site and using it for a new middle school.
Interim superintendent Marshall Hightower says it's a perfect location for the school. The property is in the village and next to the athletic fields that Longaberger donated last year. Hightower says because the value of the buildings and property are more than the purchase price, it represents a donation of one million dollars. The company is selling the 10 acre parcel, which includes the fitness center, development building, a two story house and parking lots for 500-thousand dollars. The school district says it will raze the current fitness center to make the plan for the middle school work. The fitness center will continue to operate in its current location until december then move to building "A" on the manufacturing campus.
