The move is on to bring an old park back to its former glory. Spangler park once located on the corner of Woodlawn and Muskingum avenues in Putnam used to be a thing of beauty and grace. The park once boasted water fountains, grand landscaping and sculptured handrails. Today there are no traces of the park that once was. The only thing left is trash. But now a husband and wife team wants to change that. Bart and Kate Hagermeyer, who have lived in the area for 13 years are working to change that. On Wednesday a groundbreaking ceremony was held to begin phase one of the restoration project. It should take about four years to bring the park back to its old glory.
