The call is going out for blood. The Muskingum Valley Red Cross says there is a shortage of type O, A and B-negative blood. Red Cross donor representative Abby Corder says spring colds and other sickness led to this most recent shortage. Several bloodmobiles are planned to help with the problem. On Saturday May 18th there will be a bloodmobile at Captain D's Seafood on Maple avenue in Zanesville and at the Nashport Masonic Lodge on O'bannon road. The Red Cross says there will also be a blood donor opportunity at the Good Samaritan Gym in Zanesville on Tuesday May 21st. Corder says she hopes the community will respond to this call for help.
