Congressman Bob Ney and Mayor Jack Fenton announced Monday plans for the new senior housing project in downtown Zanesville. Congressman Ney spoke to a group of Fannie Mae representatives who are investing money in the project. The project is to redevelop the Harper-Cosgrave building on North Third Street; it will cost 2.7 million dollars. When completed, the building will have both 2- and 3-bedroom apartmens, new appliances, an elevator, and laundry services. According to Mayor Fenton, the housing is an important development for the Zanesville community, because it shows that affordable housing is available for seniors. The project looks to be completed in December, 2002.
