Zanesville Man Convicted Of Internet Scam

An area man gets probation after being convicted of an internet scam. Muskingum county prosecutor Mike Haddox says after selling merchandise on E-Bay, collecting money and never delivering the goods, a Zanesville man was sentenced to three years probation. 24-year-old Scott Woods, pleaded guilty to telecommunications fraud. Ten victims from across the country bought items from woods such as video games and morgan silver dollars. However, after sending money and never recieving their merchandise, the buyers complained to law enforcment who then traced the E-Bay account back to Zanesville. In addition to probation, Woods was also senencted to 250 hours of public service and ordered to pay more than 15-hundred dollars in restitution.
