Tuesday afternoon the Southeast Area Transit Board of Trustees met to discuss a pending lawsuit against the Z-Bus Company. In May, the group had voted nine to zero to make Professional Transit Management the new management firm of Z-Bus. However, two weeks later the board changed their minds and voted to keep their current managemnet company, First Transit. The second vote has resulted in a lawsuit filed by Professional Transit. The lawsuit claims the Board violated the Sunshine Law, which states that going into an executive session without taking a roll call, or without a motion for going into executive session is illegal. In Tuesday's meeting, the Board, their laywer, representatives from both First Transit and Professional Transit, and members from the public debated the lawsuit. Next Wednesday, the Board will be in court with both management companies to address allegations.
