Body Found In Muskingum River Identified

The body of a woman found in Morgan County has been identified as that of a missing Zanesville woman. According to Zanesville detective Ric Roush, the woman is identified as 34-year old Ronda Pennington. Pennington was last seen on December 18-th of last year at her Leonard Avenue home in Zanesville. On June 1st, campers who were trying to remove a sunken boat in the Muskingum River near Malta found the body lodged inside of a boat. Licking County autopsy reports ruled the cause of death as drowning. The coroner's office used dental x-rays to make the identification.
