Over the weekend, the Muskingum County Sheriff's Department confiscated more than 75 thousand dollars worth of drugs at 803 1/2 Locust Avenue. Using search warrants, the Sheriff's Office Drug Unit along with members of the Ohio Organized Crime Package Task Force and the U.S. Postal Service were able to confiscate one kilo of cocaine and over five pounds of marijuana. Authorities also impounded several vehicles from the scene. According to the Sheriff's Separtment, today formal charges were filed against 34-year old Theophilus Niles Jr. and 28-year old Tuesday Perry from Zanesville. The Sheriff's Department says this search was part of a continuing investigation that included the seizure of more than 21 thousand dollars in cash that was intercepted in November of 2001. The Sheriff's Department says the money was cash payment for drugs that had been shipped by Niles. Niles and Perry are set to appear in court later this week.
