A newly opened business in Muskingum County will start scooping it up and dishing it out to travelers and area residents. Earlier today, a ribbon cutting ceremony marked the grand opening of a Tastee Freez located at the Airport Interchange on the East Pike. Owners Kevin Coveney and his wife Pam, who also have the Denny's restaurant next door, thought that the aiport exchange was an ideal location for the dessert franchise. Along with Denny's, the Tastee Freez Ice Cream Shop joins other food franchises such as Wendy's and Macdonald's on the the Airport Interchange. The new business is a welcomed and beneficial addition to the developmental plans of the airport area according to Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority executive director Larry Merry. The new Tastee Freez employs approximately 22 workers from the local area.
