The city of Zanesville is facing a serious water shortage and now the public service director has issued a mandatory water conservation order. Mike Simms is asking Zanesville residents to refrain from watering their lawns and gardens, filling swimming pools and washing their cars. The notice is for all Zanesville city water customers and East Muskingum Water customers living north and west of the city. Simms says anyone found ignorning the conservation order may be subject to disconnection of water service.
