The Dresden dog shooting case is back in the news. You may remember when we first told you of the case back in May. Witnesses claimed they saw a member of Dresden village council shoot a dog. Witnesses say a man pulled into a driveway on Cass street and shot the dog twice with a rifle.
After an investigation by the Muskingum county sheriff's office, prosecutor Mike Haddox decided to file charges. Haddox says councilman Terry Ripple is charged with cruelty to animals, improper usage of a firearm in a motor vehicle, discharging a firearm into a prohibited area, and discharging a firearm on or over a road. The charges are all misdemeanors. Ripple is expected to appear for an arraignment soon. The dog is reported to be "mystery", formerly owned by the Todd family. The family was not availble for comment.
