The state's Education Department admits a mistake made earlier this month. The department identified 415 low-performing schools across Ohio where parents have the option of moving their children to better schools. Actually, there are only 212 of the poor schools. The mistake is said to have been caused by a computer-programming error. Hazelwood Elementary, Maholm Elementary, North Elementary and Etna Elementary in Licking County, Perry Elementary, Rufus Putnam Community and Wilson Elementary in Muskingum County, and New Lexington Elementary and Millcreek Elementary in Perry County have all been removed from the list.
