Something's brewing on the corner of Brighton and Dryden in Zanesville. Peeking out from a corner lot sits one of Muskingum County's newest entrepreneurial ventures. Cheryl Johnson hung up her white nurse's coat and tied on an apron when she decided to quit the medicine field and opted to start her own business -- Cheryl's Java Jive and Tanning Hive. Cheryl says she enjoys a good cup of joe and a dark roasted tan to match, so she spliced the two together and created a joint venture. City officials applaud her efforts. Zanesville City Councilwoman Julia Marsh says the shop is inventive and has something for everyone including pastries, carry-out lunches and sandwiches. Cheryl's Java Jive and Tanning Hive is open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. It closes at 6 p.m. on weekends as well, but it opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday.
