Transportation officials convened at the Muskingum County Commissioner's meeting Monday, to discuss the possibility of funding a new program designed to facilitate economic resolve. Z-Bus officials presented a plan to develop a new bus route that would better connect workers to the newly developing east side of Zanesville. Many, local community agencies are backing the idea. The twenty-one mile route will run three times a day, past forty Zanesville businesses. Z-Bus representatives say they believe this proposed route could jumpstart a legion of workers who ordinarily would be unable to work due to transportation constraints. To take the plan off the blueprints and onto the roadways, it will take money, specifically $1,600 a month for six months. County officials say they will continue to review data provided by Z-Bus and other agencies.
