The Mayor of Newark has pleaded guilty today to a charge of driving under the influence. Mayor Frank Stare was pulled over early Satruday morning for failing to signal a lane change. That was just hours before he judged a car show sponsored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Stare refused to take a breath test after being pulled over. Licking county municipal Judge Thomas Marcelain sentenced Stare to three days in an alcohol-treatment program and one year of probation. He was fined 250 dollars and his license was suspended for a year.
