For more than a century, Ohio has been known as the Gateway to the Midwest, and now Ohio roadways could help open gateways of communication with the Amber Alert System. In 2003, Ohio will implement a system that strategically places animated signs along the highway that report the latest information about abducted children and their abductors. Government officials say the new system will facilitate the flow of communication between people who might have information and law authorities. State Representative Nancy Hollister says the system is phenomenal and is a great addition to an area that is heavily traveled by people throughout the nation.
