Polka music filled the streets of Dresden Saturday for their first annual Dresden Oktoberfest. Partly to celebrate German heritage, this Oktoberfest was also to honor local heroes such as the Fire-EMS and Police Departments in Dresden. The Oktoberfest also had German artisans from across the state, German food, and German crafts, such as cutting wooden bowls and weaving heritage baskets. The one-day event will be held next year, during the same weekend of October.
