It's cold outside and that means the winter heating season has arrived. Two years ago, Ohioans were shocked when the cost of natural gas used to heat their homes hit an all time high. And with area tempatures dropping into the low 30's, most residents will again become preoccupied with their monthly gas bill. But according to the Public Utilities Commission Of Ohio, the cost of heating your home will be lower than the previous year due to the slowing economy. Also under the winter reconnect order approved by the "P-U-C-O" utility customers whose service has been or may be disconnected due to non-payment can have their service restored or maintained in time for winter if they pay the amount in default or $175, whichever is less. Customers who have had their service disconnected or who are in jeopardy of being disconnected may only use the plan once during the time period of October 28, 2002 through April 15, 2003. There is no income eligibility requirement to use this order.
