Education officials from around the state are demanding the state supreme court rule on Ohio's 11-year-old school-funding lawsuit. Individual school board members and the Ohio School Boards Association rallied outside the statehouse today. Robert Shreve, past president of the Buckeye Association of School Administrators, says the Ohio supreme court must decide if the state's school funding system is constitutional. He says the court's current deadlock is inexcusable. The supreme court is reconsidering a 14-month-old ruling that said Ohio had to spend more money on its education system for it to be constitutional. Chief justice Thomas Moyer says the court has a duty to try to rule before the year's end.
