The state says two schools in the Zanesville area need to improve. They have been identified as failing to meet the Federal Achievement Requirements set by the Ohio Department of Education. Both Munson Elementary and McKinley Elementary Schools did not meet the adequate progress requirements. According to Tony Reese, Director of Title One for the Zanesville City Schools, parents of students have been made aware of the situation, and the school district is working to improve the test scores by incorporating tutors into the education system.
