Muskingum county sheriff Bob Stephenson today announced that two of his deputies have been suspended in connection with a recent fight. The sheriff says detective Todd Mayle and deputy Tim Rice were involved in a fight near a downtown Zanesvlle bar on October 25th. The two were off-duty at the time of the incident. The sheriff requested a third party investigate the incident and the Buckeye Sheriff's Association sent a deputy from the Holmes county sheriff's department. As a result, deputy Tim Rice is suspended for five days without pay for conduct unbecoming an officer and detective Todd Mayle is suspended for two days without pay for conduct unbecoming an officer. Chief deputy Wes Elson says no criminal complaints were filed and no civilians were involved in the incident.
