A little bit of turkey and a little bit of mashed potatoes can lead to a lot of added weight on the scale and that is why tons of people flock to area gyms, every year after Thanksgiving. But local physical fitness experts say it's better to take time to tailor fitness regiments instead of jumping in and working out, full force. Excercise physiologist Brooke Simmons says people walking too fast on treadmills, who lift too much weight or overexert themselves could tear or pull muscles. Simmons suggests visiting area gyms and designing excercise programs with excercise physiologists or personal trainers. It's better to burn off calories rather than burn yourself out.
