Car Crashes Into Licking River

A car crashed into the Licking River near Licking Road around 8:30 Friday night. According to Muskingum County Sheriff, Bob Stephenson, two people were involved in the car accident. However, when law enforcement arrived at the scene they found more than just an accident. Upon investigation, law enforcement discovered one of the passengers had been shot in the face. The man was found near the Muskingum County Animal Shelter on State Route 146. The Sheriff said the wound was not life threatening. Muskingum County Sheriff's detectives, the State Highway Patrol and the Zanesville Police Department are all assisting with the investigation. The injured suspect and the other passenger were both transported to Good Samaritan Hospital. WHIZ news will have more information on this story as it becomes available.
