Muskingum County Commissioners are still trying to figure out if they could get two needed items for the price of one project. Commissioners met with Starlight School administrators today, to open bids for constructing a new bus that can hold up to 54 passengers. But instead of receiving several bids by companies offering to construct the entire bus, they received two, separate offers. OBS, Inc. was willing to work with a trade-in allowance, so their construction of a body would cost $18,464. Lucas Truck Sales, Inc. said they would build a chassis for $41,184. Starlight School Superintendent John Hill says bids have always been separate, so these types of bids are out of the ordinary. Still, Hill says he hopes both needs can be bid as one project. Commissioners say they will take bids under advisement.
