The Muskingum County common pleas court brought year-end updates and statistics to the Muskingum County Commissioners Office today. This year there was an increase in the amount of money collected in court costs and restitution, more money is good; but more people before the judge is not. Judge Fleegle says there are many issues he wants to resolve this year, but his major goal is to deal with the increase in crime. He says that since the jail is over crowding he plans on keeping more people on in house arrests. Other factors mentioned today: The Thanksgiving food drive involving those who owe community service hours, this year collected 990 food items. The Christmas drive collected 1,200 items.
