Mayor Frank Stare of Newark is the first mayor in history to ever be elected for a third term. Stare says although the past twelve years have treated him good, it’s time to say goodbye. Stare says his leaving has nothing to do with a D-U-I charge that he received in September of 2002. He has implemented many programs and has created a various amount of positive causes throughout his term. To name a few he helped make the D.A.R.E program possible in Newark, he has helped by increasing the manpower in police, and fire departments, and helped reduce crime by 23-percent. His term will end on December 31st 2003, and says the reason he has made this decision is because he says it was time to move on, and to turn the reigns to someone else.
